Every Saturday morning throughout the year the Wild Oats Farmers Market takes place in nearby Sedgefield.
Market times are from 7:30-12 noon in summer; 8:00-12 noon in winter. Come rain or shine, the authentic Wild Oats Farmers’ Market is brimming with a huge choice of locally-produced foods. You can either take it home, or enjoy breakfast at the market. On offer: free-range meats, chicken, lamb, dairy and cheese, but also fresh-from-the-field veg, freshly baked and bottled goods. For those looking for a yummy breakfast there is a wide variety of fresh-off-the-coals breakfasts. Wild Oats also proudly offers the many plants and flowers of the unique Southern Cape Floral Kingdom, propagated by local plant specialists.
Next to the Fresh Produce market is the Arts and Crafts Market, offering a variety of locally produced handicrafts as well as food items. Think handcrafted candles, printed shirts, wooden bowls, candlesticks and doorstops, yummy billtong and locally produced cheeses. This is also where you will be able to find the Nourish Soaps, which feature in our bathrooms here at the Knysna Wayside Inn as well. May be nice to buy a few as souvenirs for the people at home?
Over the years the Wild Oats Farmers’ Market has become a huge hit with both locals and visitors. If you are in Knysna on a Saturday, this market is a unique concept well worth visiting.
