And what better way to celebrate than taking a picnic basket to the forest.  To Pledge Nature Reserve.  To the beach.  Or even just to Leisure Isle or The Heads.  Knysna is known for its many scenic spots, and we know them all!  The nearest is of course at the top end of nearby Pledge Nature Reserve, with it picnic table set up for you, offering fantastic views over the center of town, onto the Knysna Lagoon and straight through the Knysna Heads into the Indian Ocean (*).

You can get your entrance ticket into the reserve from Reception, and within 30min. of wandering through the ‘Central Park’ of Knysna, with an African twist of course.  Colourful clivia’s along Clivia Lane, waterlilies in the pond at the bottom of the reserve, and higher up the multitude of indigenous Fynbos.

Your picnic basket has everything in it to make the reward of reaching the top even sweeter, either as a romantic gettogether, or a fun family outing.

* Note: due to the Great Fires of June 2017 Pledge Nature Reserve is closed to the general public so the reserve can recover from the fire damage.
